With the participation and help of my friends Yves and Claire-Lise Haldemann, Stephan launched Sail & Discover with the aim of sharing his love of the sea and cruising.
The Sail & Discover adventure begins!
With charter boats, Sail & Discover offers and Stephan skippers private cruises in Croatia (Kornati Islands), Sicily (Aeolian Islands), Greece (Aegean Sea, Dodecanese, Saronic Gulf) and the West Indies (Grenadines). We have organized over 100 weeks of vacations on the water, with more than 500 satisfied guests.
Stephan met Constantin Christov and the two joined forces to acquire a 1999 Bavaria 50, the ideal yacht for Sail & Discover. The ship is located in Préveza, and Stephan literally falls in love with this region and sailing area, which he didn't know before. The place that offers everything you need for a successful sailing cruise. We decided to make it our summer base.
The Ionian region, with it´s many islands, is magnificent.
The advantage of concentrating on one area is that you can deepen your knowledge of the region and make many new usefull contacts.
Stephan becomes the unique owner of Chronos and decides to live on board.
During the winter 2022 and spring 2023, Stephan helps and coaches a couple without sailing experience to gain experience with the manoevering and navigation of their new Lagoon 450 to prepare them to sail around the world. We'll be returning to Preveza after spending the winter in Valencia, and will be offering you the chance to enjoy the magnificent areas we'll be sailing through on the way back (see our program).
In winter 2024, we plan to cross to the Caribbean, and will continue to share our adventures by offering cruises in the regions we'll be sailing.
Chronos is a Bavaria 50 from 1999.
The Bavaria 50, a 15.40 meter sail yacht is a good sized boat with a clear foredeck and a large cockpit that can accommodate eight adults.
The performances under sail of the Bavaria 50, even in light and medium air, are good. Maneuverability, speed and sailing ability are excellent for a cruising sailboat of this size.
The two aft cabins are spacious with 2.2x1.60 meter bed
In the front part of the boat, you will find a cabin with two bunk beds and comfortable berths for children or adults. The two double aft cabins are very spacious.
The saloon includes a three-meter C-shaped settee. To the opposite of it is the galley with a two-burner gas cooker, oven and double sink. In the aft of the galley is the chart table and instruments
Stephan has been a sailor since he was 15 years old, the sea is his way of life.
At the age of 23, he obtained his Offshore Yacht Master and then his naval architect diploma, and has been skippering cruises ever since.
Yuliia joins Stephan in 2023 and both share the same passion. Yullia would also be pleased to offer her hostess services if you would like to cruise without having to take care of the groceries, to cook you can book her services

Between luxury and beauty, the 55 km long Emerald Coast, a Unesco World Heritage site and protected coastline, offers an astonishing wealth and diversity. And of course, the best way to discover this paradise is by sail.
The island of Corfu itself is well worth a visit. The vegetation is lush, and the town and island of Corfu are rich in historical and cultural heritage. Sailing will give you another perspective of the region. We'll also be visiting Paxos . Anti-Paxos and, of course, Parga on the mainland, with its typically Greek and Italian villages.
Departing from Prevezabook your cabin to discover the Ionian islands. We limit the number of participants to 6 to ensure space and comfort. Chronos can accommodate 10 people.

Located on the mainland, Preveza is a perfect location to start a cruise in the Ionian Islands. This small town is also charming, it is simply the best of Greece, nestled between the mountains and the sea.
The local view is typical of a dreamy Greek destination, with its narrow streets, old neoclassical buildings, traces of Venetian and Turkish influence.
