The charm of Preveza
This Greek dream destination, with its narrow streets, old neoclassical buildings and traces of Venetian and Turkish influence, is like a journey back in time, giving you a glimpse of a once flourishing civilization.
The local cuisine is something you have to discover. The dishes are a lush mixture of fresh vegetables and seafood that combines with the salty flavour characteristic of Greek gastronomy.
The best places to experience Preveza after dark are the traditional taverns and ouzeries (ouzo bar). This is where you can enjoy yourself and listen to live music.

The green Ionian Islands
The Ionian Islands – also known in Greece as “Eptanisa” (the seven islands: Corfu, Zakynthos, Lefkada, Ithaca, Kythera, Kefalonia, Omfori) are mainly located in the west of mainland Greece and are distinguished from the other Greek islands by their fertile land (olive hills) and light blue waters.
Cypress, pine, elm, green fields, flowers, even in the middle of summer, and everywhere the dark glow of the olive, characterize the lowlands, while the higher slopes are covered with pine trees and tenacious Mediterranean scrub. If the wind is in the right direction, you can smell the pungent smell of grass miles from the sea. The islands’ green luxuriance contrasts directly with the eroded high mountains of Albania and mainland Greece that form the eastern border of the Ionian Sea.

Navigation conditions
Wind and sailing conditions in the Ionian Sea are ideal and predictable. From May to September, the wind blows from the northwest at force 2-5. In spring and autumn, the wind is lighter and generally blows from the southwest. It arrives around noon, blows from force 3 to 6 (10 to 25 knots) and dies down at sunset.
Possible point of departures and itineraries
A departure from Preveza allows the choice between these two routes.
The northern route (Parga, Paxos, Anti-Paxos, Sivota, Murter, Corfu) allows you to sail in more open sea with more regular winds. The coast south of Pargas is particularly beautiful and attractive. We can also visit the islands of Paxos and Anti-Paxos and possibly Corfu if the wind conditions are good.
The southern route (Lefkas, Meganisi, Itaki, Kastos, Kalamos), allows you to cruise in a protected area from offshore with relatively small distances between the islands. The winds are a little less regular, especially in the off-season. The islands all have their own charms with many possibilities of creeks and anchorages.
By flight Preveza has an international airport located 7 km from the marina. If you can't find a direct flight, you can go through Athens, Corfu, Kefalonia, UK or Germany.
