Our cruise from Naples to Catania was an enchantment, the Aeolian Islands are jewels. Here’s a glimpse of this week’s cruise: Departure at the foot of Vesuvius, turning to Capri and arrival in the evening in Agropolis, a mysterious city with an important ancient site and a beautiful marina. The big crossing the next day takes us to Stromboli where we arrive in the early morning at the foot of the impressive volcano. The sailing continues under sail towards Panarea, anchorage in a beautiful cove and first dive in the Aeolian Sea at 17°C, brrr… Then, Lipari and stopover in Vulcano where a warm and sulfurous mud bath awaits us. Then it will be the Strait of Messina and the port of the city rather ugly but where we ate well and saw that the 13th-century cathedral had resisted the earthquake of 1908 like the other buildings. The last stage leads us to Catania, a beautiful and very lively city.
This cruise was a real pleasure, the skipper, Stephan is a real pro with whom we feel perfectly safe. The sailboat (Oceanis 43) is built for comfort, her seaworthiness is pleasant and the equipment provided to simplify the maneuvers is perfect. The crew, who did not know each other before the departure, was quickly welded by the friendship of the “seafarers” and the evening outings in the ports contributed to our closeness.
In short, if I had to do it all over again, it is without hesitation that I would go back to sea with Stephan and Summer Breeze. (Translation from French)
